Getting started
What is Blind Productions?
Blind Productions is a showcase and community celebrating blind creative professionals — musicians, DJs, actors, authors, podcasters, content creators, and more. Browse the directory to discover people and their work, and join the forum to connect.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Anyone can browse the directory, read the forum, and suggest someone for the directory. You only need a free account to post in the forum.
Accounts and sign in
How do I create an account?
Choose Sign up, then enter your name, email, and a password. We'll email you a verification link — select it and you're in.
Do I need to be a certain age to join?
Yes. You must be 18 or older to create an account. When you sign up, you'll confirm that you're 18 or older — accounts can't be created without it.
I didn't get my verification email.
Check your spam folder first. You can request a fresh link from the login page under “Need another verification link?” Verification links are valid for 48 hours.
How do I reset my password?
On the login page, choose “Forgot your password?” and enter your email. We'll send you a link to set a new one.
How do I delete my account?
Log in, go to My Account, and choose “Delete my account.” You'll confirm with your password. Your forum posts stay but no longer show your name.
The directory
How are people added to the directory?
Anyone can suggest someone using the Submit option — no account needed — and an admin reviews every suggestion before it goes live. Admins can also add and approve profiles directly.
Can a profile include audio and video?
Yes. Profiles can feature audio previews you can play right on the page and embedded YouTube videos, alongside a bio and links to their work.
What if I don't have a website or any social media to link to?
That's completely fine — you don't need an existing following, news coverage, or even a single follower to be listed. The verifying link isn't about popularity; it just lets an admin confirm there's a real person behind the nomination. If you don't have anything to link yet, the easiest fix is to set up a small, free "home base" online that you control and use that. Any one of these works and takes just a few minutes: a simple bio page like about.me or Linktree; a LinkedIn profile; a free blog on WordPress.com or Medium; an accessible social profile on Bluesky or Mastodon (both have active blind and low-vision communities); or even a brand-new YouTube channel with a filled-out About section. Add your real name and a sentence or two about who you are and what you create, then use that link. Starting from zero is welcome — the directory is a place to begin building and networking, not a reward for having already done it.
Do I have to be a trained or professional creator to be featured?
Not at all. The directory celebrates blind and low-vision creators of every kind — professional or hobbyist, paid or unpaid. You don't need formal training or credentials. If you make something and want to share it, you belong here.
Is there a file size limit for audio?
Yes. You can include one audio file per profile, up to 10 MB. Accepted formats are mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, and aac. If your file is larger, try exporting at a lower bitrate, or host it elsewhere and add a link.
Do I need a video? Are videos required?
No. Audio-only is perfectly fine, and so is a profile with no media at all. We don't host video uploads — if you'd like to feature a video, paste a YouTube link and it will be embedded on your profile.
Can visitors download the audio I share?
Yes. Audio plays right on the profile page, and there's a download link beneath each player so listeners can save it and share it. Only upload audio you created or have the right to share.
What kinds of content can I share — and what's not allowed?
Share creative work you made or have permission to share — music, mixes, shows, podcasts, audio tutorials, readings, and the like. Keep it safe for all ages: no sexual or adult material, no hate speech or slurs, no violent or threatening content, and no spam or scams. Anything that breaks these rules may be removed.
Can I submit audio tutorials?
Absolutely. Tutorials, how-tos, demos, mixes, shows, and music are all welcome as audio. Add a clear title so people know what they're listening to.
The forum
Who can post in the forum?
Anyone with a verified account can start threads and reply. Please be welcoming and respectful — admins moderate the boards.
Can I edit or delete my posts?
Yes. You can edit or delete your own posts. A deleted post is removed but the thread it was in stays intact.
What are the community guidelines?
Keep it safe for work and welcoming for all ages: be respectful, with no harassment, hate speech, or slurs; no violent threats; no sexual or NSFW content; and no spam or scams. Posts that break these rules may be removed and repeat or serious offenders may be suspended. The most egregious content is blocked automatically, and admins moderate every board.
How quickly are new posts reviewed?
Admins are alerted by email as soon as a thread or reply is posted, so problem content is caught quickly even outside busy hours. You can also report a post by contacting an admin.
Accessibility
Is this site screen-reader friendly?
Yes — accessibility is the foundation here. Every page uses clear headings and landmarks, labeled controls, captioned media, and high contrast.
Can I change the text size or theme?
Yes. Use the Accessibility bar at the very top of every page to switch between system, light, and dark themes, increase or decrease the text size, turn on high contrast, or reduce motion. Your choices are remembered on your device.
